P A T I E N T  E X P E R I E N C E  -  S T R O K E

NAME:  Mr. LiMr. Li after the treatment.

COUNTRY:  China

AGE:  67

DIAGNOSIS:  Cerebral Hemorrhage

REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT:  He suffered a stroke four years ago.

START OF TREATMENT:  December 2005

TREATMENT:  Mr. Li underwent a combination of  neurotrophic factors and medicines to stimulate the production of neural stem cells in the hypothalamus.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT:  Mr. Li could not walk or stand easily by himself. He could not walk a significant distance.  He could not move his right hand or his right leg. He speech was impaired, making him speak slowly. A year of rehabilitation after the stoke, Mr. Li had no improvement in neither his speech nor mobility.

AFTER THE TREATMENT:  April 20, 2006

After the first month of treatment, he was able to move his right hand but not open it. After the second month of treatment, he was able to open his hand.  He could walk 20 steps without help, and walk in a straight line.  His speech has slighty improved. Mr. Li says he can think more clearly.  His friends tell him that he no longer appears ill and looks healthier.
