REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT: He didn’t feel as steady when walking as he did when he was younger. Many members of his family were diagnosed with SCA-2.

TREATMENT: Umbilical Cord Stem Cell and Nerve Growth Factor Injections with Rehabilitation Therapy.

START OF TREATMENT: April 22, 2006

BEFORE THE TREATMENT: Keith’s balance was off and was worse when waking in the morning. He was unsteady on uneven ground and felt unsteady when carrying coffee or liquids. His eyes would not focus on you when he was speaking.

AFTER THE TREATMENT (May 22, 2006): Keith had better balance. He felt he could walk stairs more easily. He felt that he had more control over the coordination in his hands. He could carry a cup of water more easily. His eyes looked less glassy when he was speaking with you.

China Stem Cell News Note: Keith’s condition had progressed the least of all of his relatives (in total six) who were treated. His condition was mild but he was still able to notice the effects of the treatment.
