Thought Provoking Quotes

“I was bowled over. They didn't have patients who were totally paralyzed and then get up and walk. But there were people who couldn't hold objects, and then they could after the operation.”

Announcer:

Since August, the Central hospital has performed stem cell procedures for ALS patients coming from 23 provinces all over China. The treatment has had positive effects. Let’s go to the report. Ms. Zhang works at the Ocean Company. When she came to the hospital, she had difficulty opening her mouth and her tongue could not move. The muscles in her arms and legs were shrinking. She was diagnosed with ALS. The Central hospital gave her stem cell injections.

Ms. Zhang:

Three days after the stem cell injection, I could stand up by myself and do simple actions such as swinging my arms. And I could turn over myself. I became better than before. When I came here, my tongue would roll up when I was speaking and I would often drool. Now one week after being here, I have found that my tongue is much better then before, and I don’t drool as much. I can do a lot of simple things I could not do before such as getting up and turning over by myself. I can comb my hair with my arm held up like this. I couldn’t do this before. I feel the effects are good. I have confidence in the treatment. I want to walk back to Tianjin.
