P A T I E N T E X P E R I E N C E - S P I N A L C O R D I N J U R Y NAME: Jason Badley COUNTRY: Canada (Ontario) AGE: 26 REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT: On October 30th, 2001 was paralyzed in a car accident. Only 15% of his spinal cord was still intact on the right side. He also had a metal plate inserted into his right femur. He had a steel rod inserted in his spine during the first surgery. TREATMENT: Umbilical cord stem cell and nerve growth factor injections with rehabilitation therapy. START OF THE TREATMENT: January 1st, 2007 BEFORE THE TREATMENT: He had movement in his right leg but had chronic spasms in his right leg and hip. They felt like charley horses that last for 30 seconds to a min each time. He had no feeling from about two to three inches under his waist but his feet did sweat. DIAGNOSIS: T12, L1 Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury
AFTER THE TREATMENT: He got more movement in his right leg. He got movement for the first time in his left leg. The feeling moved down to his buttox. His spasms were reduced and he stopped taking Zanaflex. The pain was reduced. His bladder control improved after he returned home. His trunk had more musclecontrol. The muscles in his legs had more muscle mass. His back muscles had more tone. He had better balance.
