NAME: Bianca Caprioru

COUNTRY: Romania

AGE: 17

REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT: Due to lack of oxygen during childbirth Bianca was born with Cerebral Palsy characterized mainly by mental retardation.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT:

See Videos: before1 , before2 , before3

Before the treatment Bianca was very dependant on her mother in all daily activities – eating, dressing, tying her shoes, going to the bathroom and walking. Bianca could walk only with someone supporting her on one side and holding her hand. She could point to something but could not grasp small objects. She could pronounce a few words but was unable to create sentences. She could understand commands of medium difficulty. She appeared to have double vision and had difficulty focusing her sight. She was very anxious around people she didn’t know and in unfamiliar environments and would express fear and/or uncontrolled aggression in such situations.

Her main dysfunction was cognitive and emotional.

AFTER THE TREATMENT:

See Videos: after1 , after2 , after3

After the treatment Bianca was able to walk by herself for a short distance and was less dependant on her mother in her daily activities. She was able to go to the bathroom more independently. She was also able to grasp small objects, which allowed her to start learning to eat by herself.

She showed a greater calmness and ability to learn, she also was more open to communicating with others. She was less anxious and fearful from the closeness of her environment. She could look straight ahead at eye level and further away while walking, while before the treatment she was always looking downward and wouldn’t look straight ahead.

While still having difficulty focusing her sight, if an object was given to her, she would take it which she would not do before the treatment. Her new ability to learn, to better communicate and to control her emotions are the most significant improvements noted.
